ABOUT

The Minerva Ensemble string trio are all graduates of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. We all regularly play with prestigious orchestras including the Halle Orchestra, Liverpool Philharmonic, Opera North, Manchester Camerata and the BBC Philharmonic. Whilst studying at the Royal Northern College of Music we formed a successful Wind Quintet. As our music progressed we developed as a trio of strings and oboe, allowing the elegance of the strings to be heard as you expect at a wedding, combined with that of the lyrical and warm sound of the oboe. As a trio we are also a more cost effective option than a string quartet, without compromising on quality.

Minerva Ensemble has been performing as a string trio at weddings, functions and public concerts since 1996. We have had the opportunity to play at recitals, festivals and competitions as well as tour across Europe and teach through the “Live Music Now” organisation.

We have also recorded a number of performances and performed concerts all over the UK, Europe and the rest of the world both as a group and with many other orchestras. With a wealth of experience playing both together and as individual musicians, we have developed a unique and beautiful sound.
